Frequently asked questions

  • Therapy approaches used depend on your unique needs, values and goals.

I offer various therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy, Eye-Movement Densensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), and Parenting Focused Interventions.

  • During your first session, we will discuss your reasons for seeking support, your goals, and your personal history.

This session is also a time for us to establish a comfortable, trusting relationship. You will also have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the therapeutic process.

  • Each session typically lasts between 50 and 55 minutes.

Longer sessions of 75 minutes may be recommended for EMDR processing.

The length of therapy depends on your individual goals and progress. Some people may find relief in a few sessions, while others may benefit from longer-term therapy. We will discuss your progress regularly and adjust as needed.

To access this, you will need a referral from your GP or psychiatrist, and a valid Mental Health Care Plan. Once you have this plan in place, you can claim the rebate for up to 10 sessions per calendar year.

Please speak to your GP to get started with the process.
